FAQ

What can I write a story about?
When this site began, it was strictly about Covid loss, but it has now evolved due to the devastating losses suffered throughout Kentucky from 2020 through now.  We welcome your stories of  loss (in all its forms) due to the floods in Eastern Kentucky and the December 2021 tornadoes, as well as stories about any Kentuckian, past or present, who died from Covid-19.
In addition, you may write about someone you lost during this time frame, to causes other than Covid, and who you could not properly memorialize or mourn due to social distancing and isolation, etc.

Do I need to reside in Kentucky to submit a story?
No. You can write and submit from anywhere.

Can minors submit a story?
We prefer that anyone under the age of 15 let a family member know if they’re submitting a story.

Someone submitted a story about my loved one and I do not want it to appear on the site.
What should I do?

Please send us a message on the contact form and we will find a solution.

I want to submit a story about my battle with Covid-19 and what a hard time I’m continuing to have. Can I do that?
Yes, long-Covid is a kind of loss and you may discuss how it has changed your life on this site.

Earlier, I submitted a story about my loved one who was lost to Covid and it appears on this site.  I would feel more secure if it was only published on a site about Covid loss. What should I do?
Our national site, WhoWeLost.org, has not changed its focus. It is only about Covid loss, and your story will be sheltered there. Feel free to get in touch if this is a concern.
